When Life Changes, Success Puts on Different Clothes
When Life Changes, Success Puts on Different Clothes

“I didn’t know where I was going until I got there.”
When we were kids, life was so fun and fresh. Maybe it’s because we dived straight into adventure. Because we didn’t think of success or failure in the way we think now.
I’ve always been passionate about creativity. When I was a kid I would draw all over the wardrobe doors, they were pure white just like a blank canvas. Back then we lived in a very small apartment with only one bedroom, and the only wardrobe in our home. Yet my mother didn’t stop me from drawing. She would even encourage me with kind words and compliments, and from time to time she would wash clean the wardrobe doors.
In high school, I developed a passion for the arts. However, I also started to notice that there are things that “I needed to do” in order to succeed in life, and on the other had things I wanted to do. I was studying really hard, and aiming for a very successful career in information science and programming. I even went to national competitions for Math and Physics and had really good results. The problem was, I felt really empty inside. Although everybody was vigorously supporting me to continue on the “path of success”, I felt miserable, and my heart was aching for something more meaningful. I wanted to do art. Deep down I knew, I’m not this person everybody thinks I am. I was thirsty for self-discovery.
We moved to a bigger apartment. I devoted myself to martial arts training. It was really beautiful and refreshing. I felt enthusiastic again. I met new friends, some of them are still some of my best friends. My grades and performance at school slightly lowered, but I was okay. I fell in love with my new passion and became fascinated with this different way of life. After 5 years of training, the passion was still burning and I dreamed of being a professional martial arts teacher. I started putting in even more effort, but instead of more progress, I started to face frustrations. It was a period of emotional turbulence for me. My personal relationships were pushing me to my limits. My pursuits and failures felt painful.
Going to the other extreme, and completely dedicating myself to my passions, wasn’t working as well as I thought it would. There were moments of euphoria, and lot’s of self-discovery that I treasure, but eventually it became too much. I was realizing that just a strong desire will not bring me across the river. I had to do the work. I had to row. I had to go every step of the way. Although I earned my Aikido black belt after 5 years of training, I started to realize that I was very far from being a professional instructor.
I guess especially when we’re young, we are running to meet our goals very quickly, not really having the patience or grit. We get disappointed very easily. We take everything personally and get offended very easily.
My final years at college were a mess. I was late with my exams and didn’t manage to graduate in time with my generation. I was trying to pursue a different career in Animation and Design, which was so different from the programming career that I was always supposed to pursue. I even tried music for a while. I composed and produced 5 original songs, music and lyrics and did a few gigs, but it wasn’t enough. Creative breakthroughs gave me much fulfillment, but I was running out of money. I was stuck in a vacuum between finding a job and finishing my degree but not doing good progress at any of those two.
One day, a former high-school professor met me on the street. He remembered that I was one of the top students in my class during my high school years and was sad to hear I’m not doing so well anymore. He helped me find my first job as a game developer. After starting work, my life started to improve. I got my college degree. I met a girl I’m still happily in love with. I got a small salary raise and started a blog.
If I look back, I can see that my goals and dreams have dramatically changed over the years. I have achieved many things and have many yet to achieve, but that is not the full story. There are so many little moments in between those big goals that are so full of life. This is where most of us miss out. I often remind myself, that although some dreams may die out, you can always have your passion reborn again. Maybe it will be in a completely new form. Maybe it will come to you as something you never did before, but it’s the same underlying quality.
“Success means different things at different times and circumstances. Don’t get attached to ideas.”
To finish off, I would like to share with you some core values that remained with me all the time,
and I believe they add value to a person’s life. Here is a short list:

The Many Faces of Greed
The Many Faces of Greed

Greed is a term that describes ruthless people with naked ambition, people with an insatiable appetite for riches, those who give new meaning to the word selfish.
Greed evokes images of the rich and famous playing with lavish toys such as luxurious yachts, expensive furs, and mansions that resemble palaces. Think women dripping in diamonds and middle-aged men in expensive sports cars. To greedy people, it’s as much about flaunting material trappings as it is about winning the game. As Gordon Gekko said in Wall Street, “It’s not a question of enough, pal. It’s a zero sum game, somebody wins, somebody loses.”
It’s critical, however, not to equate success and wealth with greed. The fact is, many successful people give generously of their wealth and/or their time. It’s also true that you don’t have to be particularly wealthy in order to be able to give. As Mother Teresa once said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed one.” People without means contribute generously of their time and skills every day, yet others don’t. Greed doesn’t discriminate between rich and poor. There are many ways that greed rears its ugly head every day:
The Many Faces of Greed
Life’s a spectator sport. “Bystanders” who do everything they can to get out of work are greedy people. While colleagues work at a frantic pace, selfish people work hard to avoid working at all. They spend their days moving piles of papers on their desk while they watch everyone else go crazy. These guys wouldn’t lift a finger if their life depended on it. When a job is complete, however, you can bet they’ll be first in line to claim the rewards of the effort made (by someone else).
Gaming the system. Greedy people look for clever ways or loopholes to outsmart rules and regulations, designed to protect the system, for personal gain. Although their actions may be entirely legal, greedy people evade their responsibilities by offloading the costs to others. Examples include companies that incorporate in the Cayman Islands to avoid paying taxes, politicians who waste hard-earned taxpayer money by conducting “official business” at resort destinations, and “shopping bulimics” who take advantage of generous retail store return policies by buying clothes — wearing them a few times — and returning them for credit.
It’s all about me. Leaders should use their power to help others, not themselves. A Christmas Carol is an 1843 tale about Ebenezer Scrooge, a stingy and greedy businessman who has no place in his life for kindness, compassion, charity, or benevolence. In modern times, you’ll find some wealthy business executives who receive an obscene year-end bonus and lavish company benefits while telling employees that the company hasn’t done well enough to support annual employee raises. Why? “Because I’m worth it.” But catch them in a down year, and don’t be surprised when they ask others to “share the pain.”
You’ve got my vote (as long as it doesn’t affect me). Greedy people have strong opinions about issues but expect others to shoulder the burdens. These hypocrites believe that our country should go to war, as long as we send someone else’s kid; the deficit should be reduced, as long as it doesn’t affect their pet projects; taxes should be raised, as long as the taxes to be raised don’t affect their personal pocketbook.
Something for nothing. Greedy people are first in line to ask for more but last in line to put in the work required to earn the rewards. Instead of adopting the view that everyone benefits as the pie gets larger, they view the pie as a constant — there’s only so much to go around. To them, life is a competition governed by any rules you can get away with. They feel they deserve a larger piece, even at someone else’s expense, and they’re going to take it.
Takes all kinds. Greedy people take things that don’t belong to them even at the expense of friends or colleagues. This can take the form of bluffing their way to an unwarranted promotion or accepting credit for someone else’s idea. The fact is, the greedy frequently win at someone else’s expense. They reason that if these losers aren’t smart enough to take the spoils, then the losers don’t deserve them.
Robbing someone’s confidence. Some people bring out the best in others while selfish people focus on themselves — it’s “all about me” is their rallying cry. Greedy people make themselves feel better by tearing other people down rather than by helping others feel good about themselves. Greedy people have the ability to suck the oxygen right out of a room.
Borrowing from the future. Greedy people care about their needs today and kick problems down the road for others to cope with in the future. They put band-aids on problems rather than solving the root cause; they buy things that benefit their organization today rather than investing in its future; they borrow to fund their buying addiction and stick others with the bill. Rather than taking the easy way out, parents, political leaders, executives, and the rest of us have a moral responsibility to provide a legacy for those who follow.
We are such a competitive society. We measure success by finishing in first place, making it to the top of our game, and having better toys than our neighbors. We value instant gratification by encouraging people to consume rather than to save for a rainy day — people borrow money to prove that they live large. We idolize people who drive expensive cars, wear the latest fashions, and live in luxurious homes. Greedy or not, we all help perpetuate the addiction.
The More You Give, the More You Receive
When do we ever stress the importance and value of generosity over material wealth? The fact is, according to one of the longest-running social-science studies of our time, helping others will lead to a beautiful life. Generous people believe that you gain more satisfaction in life from giving rather than taking. They’ve learned that greedy people are never satisfied that they have enough. They’re like sharks that spend their entire life hunting and consuming. All the oceans in the world can’t satisfy these eating machines.
Generous people give out of love, not obligation — without strings attached. Generous people know that a gift doesn’t have to be momentous. It can be as simple as a smile. Giving doesn’t have to be planned. Some of the best gifts in life are random acts of kindness such as creating a special moment for someone to remember. Giving doesn’t have to be from your material wealth; it can be a gift from your heart. It can take the form of giving someone confidence and respect, slowing down enough to provide someone some quality time, or sharing an honest opinion. Giving doesn’t have to provide an immediate benefit. You can give your children a strong sense of values, self-confidence, and a first-class education. Think about it…If enough people make a small gesture for someone else every day, we could transform the world. Do you spend more time giving or taking?

Do You Know the Secret. It's the Law of Attraction
It's the Source of Wealth and Everything Else You Desire - It's Also a Best-Selling Book and DVD
Unlocking the Secret
The main idea of The Secret is the Law of Attraction. It suggests that people need only visualize whatever they want in order to get it. The Secret purpports to reveal a time-worn but suppressed truth, known by such luminaries as Einstein, Beethoven and Lincoln: that we literally are what we think. At the heart of the Law of Attraction is the idea that we create our own reality, simply by asking. Believe and know that riches are yours, and feel the feelings of having them now. The more you can feel it, the more power you will add to bring it to you.
This is he Secret to everything - the secret to unlimited joy, health, money, relationships, love, youth: everything you have ever wanted.
The Law of Attraction
You may not be aware of it, but a very powerful force is at work in your life. It’s called the Law of Attraction, the capability to attract more of what you want in your life, money, health, relationships, and less of what you don’t want. The Law is always working, rather like the Law of Gravity, and right now it is attracting people, jobs, situations and relationships in your life, both good and bad. The Law of Attraction is totally reliable. When you think of things that you want, and you focus on them with all your attention, the Law of Attraction will give you what you want, every time. The Secret is a recent presentation of the Law of Attraction. The author borrows ideas from philosophy and science to suggest that thoughts and feelings are real, with their own frequency of vibration. And your thoughts attract those things -- or people, or circumstances -- with which they are synchronized.
It really is simple. If you want to know what you're holding in your mind, just look around you. What you have in your life now is the sum total of your thoughts and feelings.
At the heart of the Secret is the certainty that our thoughts are real. They send out magnetic signals that are drawing the universe back to you. When you see yourself living in abundance and feel intensely the thing you desire, without a smidgen of doubt, you will attract it. It always works. It works every time with every person.
How Does the Secret Work?
There are three simple steps to activate the secret in your life: 1. Ask 2 .Believe 3. Receive. To ask is to place your order with the universe in a positive expression of what you want, be it wealth, health, relationships or success. Just put your request out there for the universe to hear.
To believe, we want to listen to our thoughts. But, because thoughts are numerous and fleeting, we are told to pay attention to our feelings, instead. We should deeply “feel” that the universe is working on our behalf. We visualize the request made manifest. We keep it active in our minds. By giving our attention to our desire, we increase the vibrations of our request. The Secret holds that the universe will make your wishes come true only if you really, truly believe in them. The Secret is not just about positive thinking. It's about how you feel about the things you say.
The final step of the Secret is to receive, which means allowing and accepting. What it also includes is an absence of doubt. You must believe that you have already received what you have asked for, and that the Universe is working to make your request manifest in your life. Gratitude is also part of the Secret. Focusing on gratitude can help a person take control of life.
Negative thoughts attract more Negativity to You
If you think, “I don’t have a car,” that is a negative thought and attracts more negativity to you, because it goes against the nature of abundance. Instead, you should say, “I want a car, I expect a car, I visualize myself shopping for a car, buying it, and riding around in it, I believe that I already have a car and the universe is in the process of delivering it to me.” These positive thoughts, repeated often, draw into your life the very car you are asking for, and it will manifest itself in your life. What you resist, persists. If your thought is negative and fearful, it attracts the very thing you fear. That's because you give it attention, energy and focus. Rather than pushing against things we don't want, we align ourselves with what we want."
The Secret teaches that you should keep saying the way you want it to be, and if you keep saying it the way you want it to be, the universe will line up and give you exactly what you’ve said you wanted. You do not have to ask how it will be accomplished, because that is not your job. It is the universe that will make it happen, bringing what you want, because the Law of Attraction is always working.
Practical Applications of the Secret
"Everyone has to have their own experience to believe," says the author. “People should start with little things like deciding a cup of coffee will come to you or that you'll see a feather. There's no difference between attracting a feather and anything else you want. It's as easy to attract one dollar as it is $10,000."Invoking the Law of Attraction brings all kinds of rewards into your life, from finding prime parking spots to curing cancer and kidney disease, from improved eyesight to great wealth.
The Secret is a Success
"The Secret" is the concept of Rhonda Byrne, a successful Australian television producer who says she stumbled upon it while going through rough times in 2004. Then her daughter gave her a copy of “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles, first published in 1910. Rhonda mortgaged her home in Melbourne and took on an outside investor to finance her movie, “The Secret,” which wound up costing about $3 million. The very success of the Secret itself illustrates how the concept works. The DVD was released on the Internet in March, 2006. It did not play in theaters and had no marketing campaign, but, helped by word of mouth, it has sold 1.1 million copies. The book, which was published in November, 2006, is a best-selling title, even outselling preorders for the latest Harry Potter novel. There are now 3.75 million copies in print. Word of mouth has made the Secret famous, and appearances on TV with Larry King and Ellen DeGeneres, as well as the endorsement of Oprah Winfrey, have moved it into the spotlight.
The Secret Movie
The movie, book and audio CD of the book are vivid media with high production values. Rhonda enlisted a team of 52 teachers and self-help gurus, who specialize in personal development, to participate in The Secret. It is a massive, cross-promotional marketing enterprise. The Secret presents interviews with these speakers set off by short dramatized episodes with messages about how positive thinking will improve one’s health, wealth and love life. Rhonda narrates her own audio book of the Secret in her warm, breathy voice. When she speaks in her Australian accent, the word Secret sounds like the word Sacred. The Naysayers
Not everyone endorses the Secret. The medical community worries that people will avoid medical treatment in favor of positive thinking, even for a cure to their cancer. However, Rhonda suggests that the Secret is best used in combination with conventional medicine. She mentions the placebo effect as evidence of the Secret at work in healing.Others call the philosophy that wishing makes things come true a dangerous childhood fantasy. Yet, we all know that many times our wishes are self-fulfilling. Religious leaders say the idea that we can tap into the energy force and create our own world preempts divine power.
Now You Know the Secret
The premise of the Secret is simple. Love, money, health — you can have them all, simply by thinking it, believing it and receiving it. Supporters of "The Secret" tell how shifting from negative to positive thoughts radically improved their lives. Rhonda Byrne said it best: "I wanted to share this gift with every person. It's up to them to choose to believe."Source Article Credit

Why Your Flaws Are Actually Your Strengths
Your flaws are actually your strengths
Take a moment to think about what makes you unique. What’s that one thing that makes you feel different from other people in your life? Don’t let yourself get away with believing you aren’t unique, because that’s never true. I’m not talking about something that makes you one-in-a-million unique — this isn’t a fairytale, this is real life. I mean, what makes you stand out from your friends or coworkers? It doesn’t have to be anything extreme, but I do believe it’s there, and if you get honest with yourself, you believe it too.
Maybe there’s a trait you’re not thrilled about. Maybe you’re quiet and a bit uncomfortable in large social groups. Sure, that can be a disadvantage in certain situations, but that’s only one side of the story. People who feel socially awkward are usually a bit too “in their head” to act normally without overthinking things. Thinking too much feels like a flaw in those situations, but having a lot going on in your head can be a huge advantage in other parts of life. You might make a really good writer, comedian or entrepreneur. You probably have a great analytical mind that lot of people don’t.
Embrace your uniqueness
It’s far too common that people shy away from what they’re good at because they see it as a flaw. Whatever your unique “flaw” is, there’s a path where you can make it work for you. For my whole life, I’ve talked too much. If there’s silence, I fill the void by rambling, and when I catch myself, I feel embarrassed for not being able to just “play it cool”. I get so excited and then it’s almost out of my control. Until I considered writing and starting a podcast, it felt like a major personality flaw, but now my non-stop brain chatter is being funnelled into something productive and (hopefully) helpful to some people. I only had to learn how to reframe my flaw to make it something I’m proud of, and you can do the same. This is 2018 — whatever you’re passionate about, you can build a life around it with enough time and persistence.
Fortunately, everyone likes different things, so something you love might be something others can’t stand, and that’s an opportunity. Some people love numbers and problem solving, and some hate those things, but love gardening and cooking. Embrace your uniqueness and let it drive you forward into a place of fulfillment.
Failure is still progress
Even if you try something and fail, you’ll be in a much better place. If you want it badly enough, you’ll get back up and keep learning. If you realize it’s actually not what you thought it would be, then you can rest your mind knowing that you gave it a shot. If you fail initially at something you genuinely love, you won’t feel like giving up. You might be discouraged, but if you care about it, you will accept that everyone has to start somewhere. You’ll get back up and try again until you break through that barrier, and you’ll thank yourself for doing it.
Think about the difference between someone born into wealth and someone born into modest surroundings. The wealthy person may never really need to work. They might be able to relax their whole life, while the other has to work hard for everything. The thing is, working hard in life is like exercise for your mind. It strengthens your muscles for gratitude and fulfillment. Have you ever gone to the gym or done something physically exhausting? When did you feel better, before or after? The wealthy person’s life might be “easier”, but easy is the wrong goal. Fulfillment is the right goal.
Confronting your fear
Fear inside you is an indication of a deeper desire, and it’s not going away unless you face it head on. Ignored fears only fade when they turn to regrets. When you break down what you’re afraid of, the worst case scenario is never as bad as you think. Your fears almost never match up with what you’re losing by listening to those fears. There’s so much to gain and so little to lose, so take that next step today, whatever that is for you.
